This weekend was the second round of the MAM Rally X series. After the last event which I had won, I had high hopes of another good run at the second round. Unfortunately, things started out badly with what we assume was a head gasket failure on the way to the event. Thankfully however, you are allowed to share cars for this event, and my teammate Thomas Duroyon allowed me to share his car with him.

Things went off to a hectic start as we adjusted many things after the first few practice runs, but both Thomas and I were happy with the car going into the first run. It was slightly different for me, as I wasnt 100% comfortable in the car as it was slightly different from my own, but I got the hang of it by the time I entered the first timed run. Gunaseelan Rajoo had returned for this round, and it was with him that I battled hard with to win the last round, so I assumed it would be with him again that I would be fighting the victory with. After the first run, it was clear that it was going to be another close fought battle with myself and Guna seperated by less than a second, and both a few seconds clear of the rest of the pack.

Unfortunately, going into the second run, Thomas made a mistake going into one of the hairpins, and put the car on its roof. The damage caused was not repairable on the spot, so we both had to pull out from the event. Seems that things were against me for this round, but hopefully for the next round, which is to be held in Shah Alam, literally 20 meters from our workshop, a little lady luck will be on my side and I will be battling for the victory again.
